Megunneway
(d. February, 1677, Maine) English sources indicate that Megunneway was present at the destruction of part of Turner’s forces, describing him as a “notorious rogue.” Megunneway, a sachem from Maine, was captured there according to an account of the war. After his capture he was executed. (Ellis and Morris, 226; Hubbard, A Narrative of the Indian Wars, 407-409; Mather and Mather, 255)

Menowniet(Monowniet)
After the battle, Menowniet testified to the English that 40 Norwottucks and Quaboag men died, along with 10 Narragansett men. (Sheldon and Temple, 92)

Pessacus

Pomham (Pumham)
(d. July, 1676, MA) Pumham, a Shawomet sachem, survived the English attack at the falls, and later related that three hundred people died at the falls, including 170 “fighting men.” Hubbard’s account of the war notes that Pumham died in battle in July of 1676, so it is unclear when he was able to relate the story of what happened at the falls. His son was captured in the same battle in which he died, so it is possible that the son related the story. Pumham has been described as a hardliner in Philip’s confederation, working to prevent a cessation of hostilities after the falls fight. (Ellis and Morris, 226; Hubbard, A Narrative of the Indian Wars, 250; Mather and Mather, 149, 255; Yale Indian Papers Project)

Atherton died on June 4, 1677. He had one son who survived too adulthood, Joseph Atherton of Deerfield. Hope was the son of Humphrey Atherton, and graduated from Harvard College in 1665.
